The Village signpost - good as new (or old)

One cold and icy night a lorry driver made an unfortunate misjudgement and ploughed into our old "finger" signpost.

After many months of fruitless searching, a villager chanced upon a discarded traditional signpost piller in a field. Several volunteers and a four wheel drive later it was in a shed and ready to be restored.

The problem was that the old signpost had been missing for so long no one could recall just what villages and places were inscribed on the 'fingers'.

A combination of old photos, opinions and memories solved that problem and after some skillful sign writing the post was re-erected opposite Workhouse Bank. Where it belonged.
